Buddha's Compassionate Words: 你們平常三柱香插下去，求什麼？求健康、平安、家庭和睦、求小孩子讀書進步、求發達，求得這一些都只是為自己的家庭。 What do you pray for when you insert three sticks of incense? You pray for health, peace, family harmony, for your children to progress in their studies, for prosperity—all of these prayers are merely for your own family. 求了以後，會覺得仙佛為什麼不慈悲？為什麼都沒有感應？因為仙佛是無形無相的，要幫你們也是暗中的撥轉，好的撥轉，壞的也撥轉。那就要看賢士們有多少心？仙佛感應有多少？ After praying, you might wonder why the immortals and buddhas are not compassionate and why there is no response. This is because the immortals and buddhas are formless and intangible; even when they wish to help you, they do so subtly and imperceptibly, guiding good things your way and deflecting the bad. Whether they help depends on how much sincerity you have—how much the immortals and buddhas respond is proportional to your heart. 人有三分心，佛助你七分，現在你有三分心，仙佛就助你十分，端看誠心而定。 If a person has three parts of sincerity, the buddhas will help with seven parts. Now, if you have three parts of sincerity, the immortals and buddhas will help with ten parts—it all depends on the level of your sincerity. 年輕人時間一分一秒的過去，要想著的年齡愈來愈大，這叫做：『天增歲月人增壽。』時間的過去、年齡的增長，賢士們的進德修業有沒有進步？ Young people, time passes second by second. You must consider that as you grow older, it is said: 'Heaven increases the years, and people add to their age.' As time passes and your age increases, have you made progress in cultivating virtue and advancing in your practices? 進德修業需要依靠的是不斷的學習、不斷的精進，今天來佛堂就要立定志向，以後過一個充實美滿的人生。 Cultivating virtue and advancing in your practices require continuous learning and relentless effort. Coming to the holy temple today, you must set your resolve and, in the future, live a fulfilling and perfect life.
